Software engineer

Daniil T.

Software developer with 8+ years of experience. I enjoy challenging tasks, creating new solutions, and reimagining existing ones.

My experience combines production work, freelance engagements, and personal projects.

Interests

DevOps

I actively use Docker/Podman and Caddy/Nginx. I experiment with Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, and other modern tools for managing services and building my own solutions.

System design

Designing reliable systems with clear boundaries, deliberate service communication, and room to evolve.

Web

Modern frameworks chosen around project needs, with attention to performance, compatibility, accessibility, and maintainable interfaces.

Game development

Extensive experience with commercial and personal projects across all aspects of game development, from gameplay and technical art to custom tools; 3D modeling as a hobby.

Graphics

Rendering, shaders, visual effects, working with 3D graphics, and custom image-processing and recording pipelines.

AI

I use AI actively but deliberately, keeping its work scoped, observable, and testable. I regularly explore new ways to integrate it into software and workflows.

  • Visual themes and product features for a commercial service used by influencers to turn trip data into videos.
  • A WebSocket API for video requests, multiple encoder integrations, optimizations, and hardware-specific adaptations.
  • CPU and GPU profiling and optimization; shaders including custom shadows and sorting.

Result

A production renderer for a commercial product popular with influencers and other audiences.

Monitoring system

A minimal, configurable dashboard for Compose projects with an adaptive layout, near-zero CPU use, and a sub-20 MB RAM footprint.

What I worked on

  • A responsive dashboard with light and dark themes and configurable chart presentation.
  • Automatic rootless Podman metric discovery and grouping by Compose project, with host totals, project history, and dedicated service views.
  • Near-zero idle CPU use and under 20 MB of steady memory for the Rust service, with SQLite history, OIDC access, and restore-tested backups.

Result

A deployed day-to-day monitoring dashboard that stays lightweight while making Compose-project health and resource use immediately readable.

Self-hosted lab

Self-hosted lab

A home environment with unified identity, private networking, and monitoring.

What I worked on

  • Identity-aware services behind a shared ingress, with application data and credentials kept isolated.
  • Rootless-container recovery, health checks, automated backups, and repeatedly tested host recovery.
  • Private networking, monitoring, collaboration tools, and game services in one maintainable environment.

Result

A working self-hosted environment used daily, with authenticated access and recovery procedures tested against real service state.
